This 1400-page book with downloadable PDF provides the full text of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code with accompanying commentary by Robert L. Evangelista, former Chief Counsel of both the Crime Victims Compensation Board and the Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Mr. Evangelista offers in-depth commentary for all sections of the Code which have had significant cases construing their provisions by: examining language of the Code, comparing various sections of the Code, discussing the possible problems raised by the Code, including references and quotations from the Model Penal Code, and comparing the previous law and the present Code.

Citations give full attention to Pennsylvania authorities, as well as U.S. Supreme Court cases, particularly those involving the death penalty. In addition to the Crimes Code, the author has included the full statute and insightful commentary to other areas in which there are a significant number of criminal prosecutions: the Controlled Substances Act, Vehicular Homicide, and Driving Under the Influence.  New in this Fourth Edition are chapters on Antihazing and Human Trafficking.

While primarily designed for judges, lawyers, and others in the field, this text can also be used effectively by police and police students and their instructors.
