A standard law office reference for answering all questions on PA Orphans' Court law. It has been called a veritable "one sentence encyclopedia" in the field, which quickly provides the law as it exists TODAY in the Orphans' Court as defined in the statutes and cases.
BACKGROUND
The first edition, published in 1939, was thirty-three years in the making. It was originally compiled by Judge Hunter through the years he was law clerk in the Orphans' Court of Philadelphia County as necessary and desirable in his everyday work, and quickly became a standard law office reference in daily use throughout the State. Twenty years later in 1959 the Second Edition was published to preserve the authority and integrity of the text.
REVISION SCOPE
The second edition combined the completeness of reference with a new, modernized form of listing citations. Judge Hunter rearranged the material and Messrs. Smith and Aker completed the work to include new references to Fiduciary Review, Restatement of the Law and articles in the various Pennsylvania law reviews. There are complete cross-reference tables between each edition and a complete table of cases and general index. The supplements contain complete cross-references to sections of the Probate, Estates and Fiduciaries Code, and to the Revised Pennsylvania Orphans' Court Rules.
In 1971 the supplements had grown to such an extent that it was felt advisable to gradually revise the Second Edition a volume at a time. The following are the current revision dates for each book:
