BACKGROUND
Dunlap's Book of Forms first appeared as a single volume in 1845, covering general forms only, and proceeded through nine editions and two volumes to 1934. In 1925, Meredith Hanna, an employee of the Prothonotary's Office of Philadelphia, prepared a two volume work on Pennsylvania Procedural Forms. Both sets achieved wide acclaim.

In 1948, after a decision to combine Pennsylvania procedural and general forms in one set which could be easily updated by loose-leaf supplementation, the Dunlap-Hanna Publishers brought the existing set into being on a volume by volume basis until completion in 1953. The set was again revised starting December, 1987, and completed with Release #20 in February, 1990.
